My daughter Katie Beth and I will be speaking on “What College Professors Want and How Moms Can Prepare Their Writers in Middle and High School”
Katie Beth, homeschool grad, former English professor at UCF, and her, Mom, Meredith, mother of four homeschool grads and a junior in high school, will equip parents and teens to work together for excellent writing and have fun in the process. Katie Beth will share the essential ingredients high schoolers need to be successful in college English classes. Meredith will share applicable ways homeschooling moms can accomplish this often daunting and dreaded instruction. Workshop will include practical tips for writing college registration and award-winning college application essays.

Meredith will be leading the Mom’s Heart-to-Heart Session and speaking in several other sessions as well including Love the World and Understand the TImes, Geography: Travel and Eat Your Way Around the World, Making the Most of Middle School, and Biblical Worldview of Government & Economics.
Books & Beyond
Meredith and her daughter, Katie Beth will be doing a workshop at Books and Beyond on February 6-7, 2015 (Friday evening and Saturday). “High School Writing and Beyond” (at 10 am) will help parents teach writing that will prepare teens for college and life. Books and Beyond is a homeschooling conference for parents and those considering home education.
NEAR Him Night of Encouragement
Meredith will join Cheryl Bastian in speaking to Homeschooling Parents about using Literature to teach History in High School at Northland Church on Thursday at 7 p.m. on October 23, 2014. Can you teach with living books in high school? Yes, you can! History is HIS Story so it just makes sense to use great books, biographies, and classic literature to make learning history more exciting. Meredith will share how her family uses living books instead of, or in addition to, textbooks.
