Merey’s Book Review: Swiss Family Robinson

The family prays, puts their hope in God and with creativity and ingenuity escapes to a deserted island where they begin a new life of adventure and hard work in isolation for ten years. During this time they maintain habitual morning Bible reading and prayer, as well as family worship services on Sunday. (Hmmm—I don’t remember those scenes from the Disney movie version of the book—go figure!)

Merey’s Book Review: The Little Man in the Map

And so began our introduction to The Little Man in the Map by E. Andrew Martonyi. This large and lovely picture book is the most creative way I have ever seen to learn the fifty states. Of course, I do love well-written beautifully illustrated picture books. Is there anyone who doesn’t love them?

Merey’s Curriculum Review: Latina Christiana

​It is my personal goal to teach one year of Latin to each of my children when they are middle school age. Using Latina Christiana I: Introduction to Christian Latin by Cheryl Lowe was a great experience for my family. In the past, my older daughters used a computer Latin curriculum that we thought was great. This was even better.
